Deborah R. Gervase-Kirk, 64, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Deborah was a lifelong resident of the city of Elizabeth, NJ. She worked for the Superior Court of Union County for 33 years as an administrative assistant, retiring in 2019. Prior to working for Union County, Deborah worked for the Elizabeth General Hospital as a switchboard operator and for Koplin Pontiac in Elizabeth. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, and music, and was a loving aunt who doted on her niece, and nephew. Most important to Deborah was her family, which always came first. She loved spending time with them, especially during the summer down the shore in Lavallette, where fun and laughter were always in abundance.
She is predeceased by her parents, Patsy and Frances Gervase, and her fathers-in-law; Edward F. Kirk and James Flood.
Deborah is survived by her husband of 25 years, Edward M. Kirk, her sister, Lisa Colletti and her husband, Anthony, her niece, Ashley Ferraro and her husband, Anthony, her nephew, Anthony Colletti, Jr. and his fiancée Rachel Endress, her great-niece, Ava Ferraro, her grandchildren; Roman and Isabella Kirk, her mother-in-law, Virginia Flood, her sisters-in-law; Lori Kirk, Nancy Bollwage and her husband, J. Christian, Kathy Kirk, and Patricia Leon and her husband, Jose, her brothers-in-law; Thomas Kirk and his partner Joseph Amico, and Timothy Kirk, her nephews; Timmy Kirk and Christopher and Nicholas Leon, and her nieces; Tara, Emily, and Cailee Kirk and Jacqueline Bollwage. Deborah is also survived by many cousins and the Flood family.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022, from 5-7 p.m., and Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4-8 pm. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Genevieve’s R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Entombment to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Newark, NJ.
