Louis W. Melillo, 94, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Lou was born in Newark, NJ, and moved to Elizabeth, NJ in 1957 where he resided for 64 years before relocating to Manalapan, NJ in 2021. He was the Assistant Manager for Alderney Dairy Company in Newark, NJ for 42 years. In 1977, Lou became the proprietor of Liquors Unlimited in Elizabeth, which he ran for 12 years, retiring in 1988. He was also the president of the Retired Men and Ladies Club of Peterstown for 25 years, and a World War II veteran serving his country in the US Army.

He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Lucy K. (Camicia) Melillo, and his 2 brothers.

Lou is survived by his children; Mary Donna Melillo, Joanne Ferrett, Louis W. Melillo, Jr., Billy and Gina Melillo, his brothers, Rocky and Johnny Melillo, and his 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Entombment to follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.
