Marie "Georgine". Mazza, 86, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Marie was born on November 13, 1934 in Minersville, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of George M. Reno Sr. and Anna (Benzulak) Reno. She moved to New Jersey when she was 17, and relocated to Elizabeth, NJ where she remained the rest of her life. She worked as a cell block matron, crossing guard, and records room clerk for the Elizabeth Police Department for 46 years, beginning on September 5,1974 and just recently retiring on September 1, 2020. She was well known to her coworkers, neighbors and community for being kind, generous and giving and was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved to feed everyone! She is predeceased by her parents, brother, George M. Reno Jr., sister, Joan Luchanin, husband, Dominic and son, Anthony Mazza. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and her best friend Catherine Kurtzo. She had many friends and acquaintances that loved her dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:15 am at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 220 Mount Olivet Avenue, Newark, NJ.
