Calogero “Charlie” Trapani, 50, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Calogero was a lifelong resident of the city of Elizabeth, NJ. He was a construction worker for 25 years for the Building and General Construction Laborers Local 3 in Mountainside, NJ. Calogero enjoyed gardening and trips to Atlantic City. He had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is predeceased by his father, Salvatore Trapani. Calogero is survived by his mother, Carmelina (Cela)Trapani, his brother, Salvatore Trapani, his fiancée, Yeni Zecena. and his dog, Fanny. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
