Obituary of Amelia Paternoster

Amelia (nee DiMeo) Paternoster, 88, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, with her loving family by her side.  Mrs. Paternoster was born in Vallata, Italy. She emigrated to Elizabeth, NJ in 1963, where she resided for the remainder of her life and worked as a seamstress for various clothing manufacturers as well as for Aprile Cleaners. Mrs. Paternoster was also a devoted and long-time parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Elizabeth. She is predeceased by her husband, Mario A. Paternoster, her siblings; Assunta Crincoli, Michelina Dell'Osso, Vincenzina DiMeo, Francesco DiMeo, Maria Scanniello, and Ida Ventulli.  Mrs. Paternoster is survived by her sons; Mario(Lisa) Paternoster, Jr. and Joseph(Rosa) Paternoster, her siblings; Lorenzo Rocco DiMeo and Teresa Ascani, and her grandson, Joseph Antonio. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews in the United States and Italy. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 3-7 p.m. and Monday, May 23, 2022, from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 853 Third Ave., Elizabeth NJ, 07202. Burial to follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral from the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine St., Elizabeth, NJ on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 9:00 am thence to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ where at 10:30 am a funeral mass will be offered. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 3-7 pm.
