Obituary of Margaret Ann Lowrie

Margaret Ann Lowrie, 73, of Linden, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 4-7pm at the Petruccelli Funeral Home,232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. Cremation will be private. Margaret was born in Plainfield, NJ and grew up in the Highlands, NJ where she graduated from the Henry Hudson Regional High School in 1965. She attended Kean College and moved to Linden in 1979 where she currently lived. Margaret went on to manage the Snug Harbor Restaurant in Elizabeth, NJ from 1975-1985, and then worked at A & J Trading as the warehouse foreman from 1985 until 2012 when she retired. Her love of singing began at a young age and continued throughout her life. Margaret was an avid reader, and a die-hard Yankee and Wayne Newton fan. She was a loving, and compassionate person who shared her heart, and home with her family. Her beloved niece Margaret Koellhoffer was her caregiver for many years. Margaret is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Edythe (Hayden)Lowrie, and her brother, Edward Lowrie. She is the loving sister of Susan Noviello and Jon Lowrie, dear mother of Michelle Hlavacek, and her partner Anna Silberg, devoted and cherished aunt of several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and great nephews and is also survived by several cousins. Margaret also leaves many childhood and lifetime friends, who will cherish her memory.
