Maria G. (Patetta)Nardella, 81, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Maria was born in Italy and immigrated to Elizabeth, NJ in 1959 where she lived for the past 62 years. She was a devoted, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Maria enjoyed cooking, and tending to her vegetable garden, and flowers. One of her greatest pleasures was being with her grandchildren whether it was making them coffee, and cookies or spending girl’s time with her only granddaughter, Gina, with whom she shared a special bond.
She is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Nunzio Nardella, her son; Peter Nardella, her siblings: Euplio Patetta, Arcangela Primavera, and Louisa Smeraglia, her sister-in-law; Concetta Patetta, and her brother-in-law; Giovanni Primavera.
Maria is survived by her daughter; Josephine Rodriguez and her husband Jose, her daughter-in-law; Mary Ann Nardella, her grandchildren; Peter Nardella and his wife Vanessa, Anthony Nardella, and his wife Adriannie, Giovanni Rodriguez, and his wife Amanda, Gina Rodriguez, and Domenic, and Vincent Nardella, her brother-in-law; Giuseppe Smeraglia, her sisters-in-law; Maria DiNardo and her husband, Marsilio, and Lia Avorio, and her husband, Aquelino, her relatives; Carmela Lefano, Elvira Sisto, and Giuseppina DiNardo, and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 3-7pm and Saturday, June 12, 2021 from
830-9:15am at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 853 Third Ave., Elizabeth, NJ 07202. Entombment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
