Richard T. French(King of Gentlemen), 84, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021, with his wife, and brother, Bob, by his side.
Rich was born in Elizabeth, NJ where he resided for 44 years. He was a chief lineman for PSE&G, in Elizabeth, NJ for 40 years retiring in 1999, during that time he also bartended at Smooty's Bar and Restaurant, in Elizabeth, NJ, and Pick's Irish Pub, in Linden, NJ. Rich was a member of the American Legion Post 196 and VFW of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896 of Wildwood, NJ, the Deutscher Club and Gran Centurions of Clark, NJ, Dean Martin Gessner Council 3310 of the Knights of Columbus, AARP, and the Retired Men and Ladies Club of Linden, NJ.
He is predeceased by his siblings, Joan Moran, Kathy Miller, and John French.
He is survived by his wife, Christine(Tina) (Gionataiso)French, his children; Richard and Mark French, Linda Difiori, Karen French Parr, Marybeth Campbell, and Anne Sallee, his brothers; Robert and Thomas French, his 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his former wife, Barbara French.
Visitation will be held at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine St, Elizabeth, NJ on Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 8:30-10:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Saint Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Newark, NJ.
