Lucy M. (nee Veltre) Ragazzo, 97, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 9:00am - 10:15am at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 853 Third Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ. Due to inclement weather, interment will be private at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ. February 9, 1947 was Lucy and Sal’s Wedding Day. Lucy was born in the Peterstown section of Elizabeth where she lived for 43 years. She moved to Linden, NJ in 1965 where she resided until relocating to The Haven Assisted Living, Toms River, NJ. in 2015. She worked for The City of Elizabeth as a clerk from 1972 -1979. Lucy and her husband, Sal, were Junior League Bowling Coaches at Jersey Lanes in Linden, NJ for over 10 years. She was also a member of the Retired Mens and Ladies Club of Elizabeth, NJ. Lucy is predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Ragazzo, her brother, Private First Class, Ralph “Rip” Veltre, her sisters and their husbands, Minnie and Gordy Coletti, Sr. and Frances and James “Joe” Dering Jr. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Michael and Denise, and Ralph “Rip” and Kathy Ragazzo, grandsons, Michael Salvatore, and Anthony Ralph Ragazzo, her nieces and nephews, Joyce Coletti-Finnerty, Gordon Coletti, Jr., James Dering, Donna Dering Horowitz and their families, along with many cousins and their families.
