Vincenza Cornacchia, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 31, 2021 surrounded by her loving family coming from all over America. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to join us on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 10:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Elizabeth, NJ where a funeral mass will be offered. Entombment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ. Visitation is private on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Vincenza was born April 20, 1925 in Vallata, Italy to her parents Giuseppe LaVecchia and Maria Cerullo. She immigrated with her infant son to Elizabeth, NJ in 1956 where she resided before moving to Sudbury, Massachusetts in 2019. She worked as a seamstress for an Elizabeth clothing manufacturer, Mannheim, for 15 years. Vincenza was also a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Elizabeth.
She is predeceased by her husband of over 40 years, Michele Cornacchia.
Vincenza is survived by her children: Rosa, Mario(Darlene) and Lisa Cornacchia(Rick Gyory), her sister, Anna(Gerardo) Paternostro, her grandchildren: Angela, Michelle, Mario, Sam, Nate and Danielle, and her great grandchildren: Derrick, Tyler, and Hailey.
Besides her love and devotion to her family, her passions included cooking Sunday and Holiday meals. Vincenza loved sewing for her family, storytelling, and singing songs. Her charismatic personality drew in everyone to laugh and smile. If you entered her kitchen, you would leave with a smile and a full belly. Her family, friends, and even strangers felt embraced by her warm and loving personality.
