Doris Bonavitacola passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Doris moved to Elizabeth, when she was young and was raised there. She later settled in Colonia, in 1998. Doris dedicated 18 years of her career as a secretary at the McAuley School in Watchung, New Jersey. She was also a member of the Retired Men and Ladies' Club of Elizabeth. Doris had a zest for life that was reflected in her various passions. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, dancing, dining out, and doing ceramics. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Frank A. Bonavitacola, Sr., and her brother, Benjamin Lappino.

Doris is survived by her children; Anthony(Becky), Robert (Claudia), Frank, Jr.(Donna), and Mary Ann Bonavitacola, her grandchildren; Meghan, Breanne, Frank Anthony(Susie), Geanna(Brian), Julia, and Lauren and her great-grandchildren; Logan, Liam, Maggie, Benjamin, and Abigail.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine St., Elizabeth, NJ 07202 with a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at St. Genevieve's R.C. Church, 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth, NJ. Entombment is in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, N.J
