Beverlyanne Theresa Sporer

Beverlyanne Sporer passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with glioblastoma, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Newark, New Jersey, on November 17, 1946, Beverlyanne spent most of her life in Elizabeth before settling in Beach Haven West. She dedicated many years to her work as a waitress at The Garden Restaurant before joining her family’s business, Spirito’s Restaurant, where she warmly welcomed countless familiar faces and shared her love of food with generations of loyal patrons.

Known for her exceptional cooking and baking, Beverlyanne earned the affectionate nickname “Bevie Crocker.” She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time with her family, sharing home-cooked meals, and enjoying her annual month-long getaways to Cancun and the Riviera Maya

She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank and Silvia Spirito, the devoted wife of the late John “Yockey” Sporer, and the cherished sister of the late Gemma DeGregorio. Beverlyanne was the proud and loving mother of Frank Zyla, Amymarie Sporer, and Christa Cerullo (Giovanni), and the adored “Mima” to her treasured grandchildren—Frankie, Gerardo, Gianni, Isabella, Nico, and Luciano—who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Margo Frances Berzito (the late Robert) and Toni Donna Morgan (Neal). Beverlyanne is also survived by many dear brothers- and sisters-in-law, both living and deceased, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews who adored her and will forever cherish her memory.

May her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. Honoring her wishes, cremation will be private. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Genevieve’s Church, 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth, N.J., on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
