Peter Madorma Obituary

Peter Madorma passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 21, 2025, following a long illness. Born in Elizabeth, Peter remained a resident within the Peterstown section of the city for most of his life before recently moving to Assisted Living in Clark. Peterstown was a tight-knit community where everyone knew everyone, and where he would meet the love of his life, Camille, whom he married at 21 years old. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 to 1972, returning home to work as an electrician. He went on to have a long and accomplished career at the Elizabeth Board of Education, where he took immense pride in his work and made lifelong friends. Peter enjoyed traveling with his wife, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, visiting Florida and Italy, where they would enjoy delicious meals and fine wine. Participating in his community, Peter was a member of the Knights of Columbus 253. He was a loyal and dependable individual who filled his days surrounded by loved ones and sharing the precious memories made together. Although he will be missed, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, compassion, and above all, his love of family.

He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Camille Madorma, his brother-in-law, The Honorable John F. Malone, and his parents, James and Myrtle Madorma.

He is survived by his sister Yolanda Wegrzynek and her husband Edmund, their children Vincenzo and Raymond, his sister-in-law Jo Ann Malone, his cousins Diane Foskey (Brian), Lois Westerfield (Carlos), his Godson Michael Costello, and his brother Dean, their families, as well as his nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and Friday, October 24, 2025, from 8:45-9:15 a.m. at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine St., Elizabeth, NJ 07202, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Genevieve’s R.C.
