Susan J Noviello Obituary

Susan Noviello, 78, of Avenel, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Susan was born in Plainfield, NJ, and moved to Elizabeth, NJ, in 1965, where she raised her family before settling in Avenel, NJ, in 2003. She dedicated much of her life to the restaurant industry, bringing warmth and hospitality to everyone she served. She worked as a waitress at the Snug Harbor Inn in Linden, NJ, for eight years before spending 30 years at the beloved Betty Lynn Diner. She later became the manager of the Edison Family Diner in Edison, NJ, where she worked for five years before retiring.


Susan will forever be remembered for her fierce loyalty, unwavering devotion, incredible strength, and unfettering dedication to her family. She had a passion for life and enjoyed spending time doing the things she loved most—bowling, bingo, ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. She also found joy in dancing and was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.


Susan was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Edythe Lowrie, her husband, Mario Noviello, her sons, Joseph Koellhoffer and Edward Lowrie, her sister, Margaret Lowrie, and her brother, Edward Lowrie.


Susan is survived by her loving children: David (Tracy Scott) Lowrie, John Lowrie, Marc (Laura) Koellhoffer, Richard Koellhoffer, Joanne (Miguel) Mendez, Margaret Koellhoffer, and Bonnie Koellhoffer; her brother, Jon Lowrie; her 17 grandchildren; her 6 great-grandchildren; and her devoted and loving partner, John Casper.


Relatives, friends, and loved ones are invited to attend the visitation at the Petruccelli Funeral Home, 232 Christine Street, Elizabeth, NJ, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 3-6 PM.
